2018/19 Old Boys' Blues Band

The band is an opportunity for any Old Boy that plays a musical instrument to come and play jazz, rock and blues. The focus of the band is to get everyone playing, work on a variety of styles of pieces, and improvise a lot, but most of all, we will have a lot of fun!
We will aim to perform for the school at least once and have one or more public concerts, usually to support a good cause.
WHEN: Tuesday evenings starting September 11, 2018, until June 28, 2019.
WHERE: Selwyn House Music Room.
TIME: Rehearsal will start at 6:30 p.m. and run until 8:00 p.m. Room will open from 6:00 p.m. to get set up and warm up.
PARTICIPANTS: Any SHS Old Boy that plays a muscial instrument, has good basic reading ability, and wants to play some jazz, rock and blues. You must have an instrument at home to practice on.
PROVIDED: We have drum sets, percussion, four keyboards, sound system, mikes, guitar and bass amps. You must bring your own instrument, cords, tuners etc except for those mentioned above.

This will help Jaime know what the participation will be and give him a chance to start putting some arrangements together for the instrumentation of the band. He will then contact you by email and confirm the rehearsal dates and times.
In lieu of registration fee, participants are encouraged to
donate below to the Old Boys' Endowment Fund.
Tax receipts will be issued for all donations.
